The old jail cell is a brown structure that still has the old iron door that many prisoners peered through towards freedom. The other structure on the grounds is that of a brewery which is housed in a white structure.

Frank and Joseph Schottmuller, two successful brewery owners, decided to construct the buildings on the property. The reason why the two brothers chose this location was that there was a cave that was benefit to storing their brews.

When the two brothers needed some additional space, they purchased a 1851 two story stable from the Chisago House Hotel. The two brothers placed the stable directly upon their saloon and lived there as a residence.

In 1884, the jail was built ironically next to the saloon. This was in hopes of catching and placing the rowdy crowds from the saloon into the four cell jail for the a night of thought and detoxification.

In 1904, a fire rampaged through Taylor Falls and one of the only buildings that was not touched during this disaster was that of the stable.

Since its construction, the abstract for the property has had over 200 entries. In its time, it has housed numerous businesses such as a beauty shop, a general store, and even a mortuary.

As far as reported activity at the bed and breakfast, one couple reported having some strange occurrences happen during the night of their stay. Both reported feeling a cat jump on the bed even though they had not brought their cat with them. They both however report feeling the indentation of a cat jumping onto the bed in the old jail house.

One woman had an even more frightening experience happen to her. While staying at the bed and breakfast, the woman got up to use the rest room at 4 am and upon going down the stairs, she saw a glowing light. She tried to brush it off and credit it to her imagination, she was suprised to see it follow her back to her room. Still in disbelief, she stopped to stare at the glowing light and see it turn into a old woman and a boy. In shock now, she tried to scream but could not. The only sound was that of the little boy saying, "miss don't be afraid. We are here to watch over you." The woman closed her eyes only to open them with her two visitors out of sight.
