History

The Minnesota Paranormal Study Group heard about this case through the firefighter's network. Since we have two firefighters on our team, they were the ones that had brought this to our attention as well as a friend of ours on Facebook.

The client is a single father of two who works full time at a local firehouse named Brian. He lives in Chisholm and has had guests and his children see bizarre things in the home such as full body apparitions. The home consists of two levels; a main floor and a finished basement.

We were joined on this investigation by his ex-girlfriend named "Stacey" and a friend of her's, "Deb."

While living at the home, Stacey had witnessed a few apparitions in the home such as a man in flannel and a hat. Her teenage daughter had also witnessed this man on a seperate ocassion without knowing her mom's previous experience. (The strange thing is that this apparition appeared to her while she was on the basement toilet.) The previous owner of the home was always described to wear flannel and a hat according to his family in the area.

Stacey also reported seeing a man standing over the bed one night which she claims was her ex-boyfriend's father.

One night while sleeping, the client's youngest son ran into the bedroom and was terrified. He said that he saw something scary in his room and did not sleep in there. The son was approximately three years old at the time.

On another occassion, Stacey's sister, who was a guest, at the home witnessed seeing a man walk through the basement bedroom door and into the room where she was sleeping.

The couple has been apart for about a year and the home scares Stacey, which is why she brought her friend, Deb.

The client had decided that we would investigate his home while he was pulling a twelve hour shift at the firehouse. His two boys were with a family member so we could investigate and find the cause of all these wild claims that his guests and children were reporting. He had never witnessed anything himself while in the home.

Misc. Notes

The home was originally built in the 1960s and was used as a home and a business. The original owner had a gunsmith shop in the basement area.

Today, the home is a remodeled and well furnished home. The client did the work himself and the home has a lot of high tech devices in it, which worried us for EMF signals. Much to our surprise, the shielding work was excellent and the home reads a steady 0.0 milligauss. This house would be a first in which we had no residual EMF signal which is a great sign.

The home felt very comfortable besides having a cold basement.

Investigation

After gathering at Snicker's Pizza in Chisholm for a pre-investiation briefing and dinner, the team headed over to the home. The team arrived around 8 pm CST. Todd arrived approximately at 8:45 pm.

We met with Stacey and Deb in the kitchen area and asked for Stacey to give us a tour in which she did. (Video below of tour). After this, the team decided to set up the DVR cameras.

The cameras were as followed:

• Upstairs bedroom on the bed (Oldest son's room) - An apparition was seen by the closet
• Basement Bedroom - where the guest had seen an apparition come through the door
• Basement Bathroom - on the tank of the toilet where we had hoped to capture the apparition that came to the young girl while on the toilet
• Basement living area - we set up a camera facing the stairs so we knew who all came down the stairs when and why

The team broke into two teams throughout most of the night per team policy.

At 9:20 PM, Adam, Matt A., Stacey and Deb investigated the basement first and filmed the experiences of Stacey. We sat quietly in the bedroom and the only reported incident was that of Matt seeing a strange white ball of light above the door. We checked for known sources and only found a fire alarm that blinked orange once a minute.

While the team was in the basement, Todd and Mickey had investigated the upstairs bedroom where the DVR camera was placed. They reported hearing footsteps coming down the hallway while no one was upstairs and we were unable to confirm this with our audio recorders. (The house has a lot of ambient noise such as a fish tank that has a bubbler.)

The team's regrouped and switched investigation spots.

While downstairs, Mickey and Todd had reported hearing feet shuffling in the downstairs bedroom which had startled Mick. We did have an audio recorder down there but we had found nothing that support this claim. Todd had also witnessed seeing a white ball of light, about a quarter to fifty cent piece size, float underneath the TV in the bedroom. This was similar to what Matt had reported seeing and neither Mickey nor Todd had no knowledge of the previous report. Since we had an IR camera down there, we hoped that we would capture it but were unable to.

The night was pretty uneventful and to wake up the team, Adam, who was watching the team through the DVR monitor,  decided to slam a door while the majority of the team was investigating the upstairs bedroom and dozing off. This got everyone back into the investigation as they truly thought they had something.

Observations and Conclusions

The only thing that I could consider in this case is that since everyone who has witness the phenomena is related to Stacey and is female (excluding the youngest son), there might be a possibilty that a hereditary condition of being sensitive runs in her family. The son might have had just a simple nightmare or night terror as that is common at that age. 

FINAL CONCLUSION:

CLEAN AS A WHISTLE. NOT HAUNTED NOR WAS THERE ANY PARANORMAL ACTIVITY THAT PRESENTED ITSELF WHILE WE WERE THERE.
